Notification preferences
Notification preferences: which alerts exist, which ones also come by email, why the Push column does nothing on the web, and how to turn each alert off.
Orquiva alerts you about things that affect you: a time-off decision, a document to sign, an evaluation assigned to you. In Notification preferences you choose, alert by alert, how you want to get each one, or whether you want it at all.
Where to find it
Two routes lead to the same screen:
- Open your profile menu and choose Notifications.
- In your Inbox, click the gear icon in the header.
Adjust your alerts
The screen is a table: one row per type of alert, grouped by module (Time off, Clock-ins, Onboarding, Signatures, Expenses, Documents, Reviews), and three channel columns: Inbox, Email and Push. Where an alert doesn’t have a channel, the cell shows a dash.
- Open Notification preferences.
- Find the alert in its group and switch the channel you want on or off.
- Click Save changes. The button only becomes active once you’ve changed something, and when it saves you’ll see Preferences saved.
Everything starts switched on. If you turn off Inbox for an alert, that alert stops being created: you won’t see it in your inbox and it won’t count toward its number. Alerts that weren’t created while it was off don’t appear when you switch it back on.
The alerts that only go to people who decide other people’s time off (Time off awaiting review, Absence notified and Time-off deletion requested) only appear in the table if someone reports to you, you’re an administrator, or you manage the company’s time off.

Email only exists for three things
Orquiva sends email when your time off is decided, when you have onboarding tasks or reminders, and when your working day is still open in the evening. Documents, signatures, expenses, evaluations, surveys and announcements only reach your inbox.
The Push column sends nothing to the web
Push is for Orquiva’s native mobile app, which isn’t published in the app stores yet. In the browser, on a computer or a phone, you get no push notifications even with the switch on. See Orquiva on your phone.
The open working day alert
Orquiva doesn’t remind you to clock in. What it does do is check every evening at 22:00 (10 p.m.), in your company’s time zone, who still has that day’s working day open. If that’s you, you get Your working day is still open in your inbox and by email, with the time it started. It arrives once per person per day. If you had already finished, close the day or request a correction with the actual time: see Breaks and corrections.
What happens next
Changes apply as soon as you save, and only to you: they don’t affect what your colleagues receive. They don’t change what reaches Slack or Teams either, which depends on the connection an administrator sets up: see Slack and Teams alerts. Orquiva doesn’t alert you about your own actions, so requesting time off doesn’t produce a “request created” alert. Emails are sent in your account’s language: see Language and preferences.
If something goes wrong
An alert’s email never arrives. Only the alerts marked with email in the table have one. If it’s one of those, check that its Email switch is on and look in your spam folder.
Push is on and nothing reaches my phone. The web doesn’t send push. The Push switch is for the native app, which isn’t available yet.
I’m a manager and don’t see Time off awaiting review in the table. It only appears if someone has you as their direct manager, you’re an administrator, or you manage the company’s time off.
I turned an alert off and it still comes by email. Inbox and Email are switched off separately. Turn the email off too and click Save changes.
