Orquiva on your phone
Orquiva isn't in the app stores: you use it in your phone's browser and add it to your home screen. How to install it, clock in, location and notices.
Orquiva has no app in the App Store or Google Play. On your phone you use it in the browser, with the same account and the same screens as on your computer, and you can add it to your home screen to open it like any other app.
Before you start
- You need a connection. Orquiva works online: without data or Wi-Fi you can’t clock in or look anything up.
- Use your company’s address, like yourcompany.orquiva.com, with your email and password or your work account. Signing in is covered in Signing in.
Adding Orquiva to your home screen
- Open your company’s address in your phone’s browser and sign in.
- On iPhone, in Safari: tap the share button and choose Add to Home Screen.
- On Android, in Chrome: open the browser menu (the three dots) and choose Install app or Add to Home screen, depending on the version.
- Open Orquiva from the new icon. It opens full screen, without the browser bar.
There’s nothing to update: every time you open it you get the current version.
Clocking in on your phone
It’s the same card as on your computer, on Home or in Time tracking → Clock-ins. The counter is kept by the server, so it doesn’t matter where you start and where you finish: if you clock in on your phone and clock out on your computer, it’s the same working day.
- Under Where you work, choose Office, Client site or Remote.
- Tap Clock in. The counter starts running.
- For a break, tap Take a break; when you’re back, Resume.
- When you finish, tap Clock out.
The details — resuming after clocking out, overtime, clocking in on a day off — are in Clocking in and out.
Location, only if you want it
Below the buttons there’s a Save where I clock in (device location) checkbox. It starts unticked, and whatever you choose is remembered on that device.
If you tick it, when you clock in and out the browser asks for permission to use your location, and your position is saved with that stretch of work. You see it in your clock-ins, and so does whoever reviews your clock-ins at your company. There’s no continuous tracking: it’s only taken at the moment you clock.
Location never stops you clocking in
If you refuse permission, or your phone takes more than 5 seconds to report its position, the clock-in is recorded anyway, without it.
Notices
There are no push notifications. Notices — approved time off, a declined correction, a document to sign — arrive in your Inbox, and some by email too. Which ones and on which channel: Notifications.
One worth knowing: if your working day is still open at 10 p.m. (in your company’s time zone), you get Your working day is still open in your inbox and, unless you’ve turned it off, by email. There’s no reminder to clock in.
What happens next
What you clock on your phone goes into the same record as what you clock on your computer and shows up on both straight away. Everything else — time off, documents, signatures, expenses — works on your phone as well.
If something goes wrong
I can’t find Orquiva in the app store. It isn’t there. Use it in the browser and add it to your home screen, as described above.
I don’t get the option to add it to the home screen. On iPhone it has to be from Safari. On Android, look in Chrome’s menu; some browsers don’t offer it.
It won’t let me clock in. Check your connection and try again. Location isn’t the cause: without permission you still clock in.
The counter doesn’t match what I see on my computer. Reload the page: the time is calculated by the server and is the same in both places. If the clock-in itself is wrong, request a correction.
I don’t get notices on my phone. There’s no push. Check your inbox and your email preferences in Notifications.
