My reviews
Where your performance reviews are, who creates them, what each state means and who can see them, including the reviewer and the admin.
In PerformanceMy evaluations you see the performance reviews you take part in: the ones you have to answer, the ones about you, and the ones you have been asked to review. The product calls them evaluations.
Before you start
Reviews are part of Performance, which is included from the Professional plan. On top of that, your role needs the evaluations permission. The factory Employee role that Orquiva creates doesn’t include it and the Manager role does, so at many companies Performance doesn’t show up in an employee’s menu until the company grants it.
Surveys use the same form, but they don’t live here: you answer them in CommunitySurveys.
Who creates a review
A review doesn’t appear on its own, and you can’t assign one to yourself. It is created in Talent managementEvaluations with New review, from a template, and two kinds of people can do it:
- Your direct manager, only for the people on their direct team.
- An admin, for anyone at the company.
The same review can be assigned to several people at once. When it’s created, someone picks Who answers?:
- I evaluate the people I select: your manager answers about you.
- The people I select evaluate me: you answer about your manager.
Every review has an evaluator, the person who answers, and a person being evaluated. It can also carry a Reviewer (optional): someone else who reads it once it’s submitted.
When it’s your turn to answer, your Inbox gets the alert “You have an evaluation to complete”, with a View my evaluations button. If you only appear as the person evaluated or as the reviewer, you don’t get an alert.
Where to find them
- Open Performance, in the Personal section of the menu, and click the My evaluations tab.
- Pick the view: My evaluations gathers the ones where you are the evaluator or the person evaluated; To review, the ones where you’ve been named reviewer.
- If there are many, type in Search by title or people or change All statuses to the state you’re after.
- Click the row. The detail opens in a dialog.
Each row shows the state, the Score once there is one, and the deadline notice: Due today, “In N days” or “N d overdue”.
States
| State | What it means | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Created and waiting for the evaluator's answers | If you are the evaluator, answer and submit it |
| Draft | An integration connected to the Orquiva API created it in this state or moved it here. Reviews created from Orquiva's own screens start as Pending. It doesn't mean anyone has started it: Orquiva saves no answers until submission | The same as Pending |
| Submitted | The evaluator has sent it | Read it. It can't be changed or reopened |
| Closed | It no longer takes answers. Its creator or an admin closed it, or it is a survey that closed itself when its deadline passed | Read whatever was submitted before it closed |
Who can see a review
- The evaluator, the person evaluated, the creator and the reviewer, if there is one. Until submission only the evaluator sees the answers; everyone else sees them from that moment on.
- An admin sees, in Talent management, the list of every review at the company, with title, people, state and score. If they don’t take part in one, they can’t open its answers.
- A manager sees, in Talent management, the ones they created for their direct team.
Nobody else. Having the HR role gives no access to other people’s reviews.
The reviewer reads it too
If someone appears as Reviewer in the detail, that person will see the answers and the score as soon as it’s submitted. Whoever creates the review chooses them.
What happens next
If it’s your turn to answer, follow Completing a review. How the score is worked out and what each person sees after submission is in Results and follow-up.
If something goes wrong
I can’t see Performance in the menu, or opening it takes me back to Home. Your company’s plan doesn’t include it, or your role doesn’t carry the evaluations permission. Ask whoever administers Orquiva at your company.
I can’t see any reviews. Nobody has created one yet where you are the evaluator or the person evaluated. If you were expecting one, ask your manager.
I was named reviewer and can’t find it. Switch to the To review view. Until the evaluator submits it, you won’t see any answers.
I created a review for my team and it isn’t here. My evaluations only lists the ones where you are the evaluator or the person evaluated. The ones you created are in Talent managementEvaluations, one row per review.
I can’t find a review I remember. Clear the search and go back to All statuses: it may be Submitted or Closed.
The deadline has passed. The date doesn’t block submission: while it is still Pending, you can answer it. Only surveys set to close at the deadline stop taking answers.
