Goals and board

Performance: the goals your manager sets you, with tasks and progress, and your department's team goals board. What you can change and what you can't.

Performance is where you see what’s expected of you. It has three tabs: Goals, with the goals your manager sets you; My evaluations, explained in My reviews; and Board, where your department organizes its team goals.

Before you start

Performance is included from the Professional plan, and your role also has to include access to goals. The factory Employee role doesn’t include it, so in many companies you have to ask for it. If you don’t see Performance in the side menu, or a link to it sends you back to the home page, ask HR to give you that access.

Goals: what you’ve been set

The Goals tab is read-only. It has no button to create anything, and nothing you see is edited from here: goals are created by your direct manager or an administrator, from Talent management.

  1. Open Performance. It opens on Goals.
  2. At the top you see the Total progress. With the Period selector you pick a year or All periods. A goal’s year is that of its start date; if it has none, that of its end date or of when it was created.
  3. Click a goal to see its tasks. Each one is Fixed (done or not done) or Variable (advances by percentage).
  4. To see what has changed, click the History button on its row: you’ll see when it was created, edited or had its progress updated.

Your manager sets the percentage

Progress does exist, but you don’t mark it: only your direct manager or an administrator can complete tasks or set their percentage. When every task in a goal reaches 100%, the goal completes on its own, and it reopens if any task drops back.

Board: your team’s goals

My board is a card board with four columns: To do, In progress, In review and Done. What you create here is a team goal, shared with your department: it never moves to the Goals tab.

  1. In Board, click New team goal.
  2. Type the title. If you like, add a description, the End date and, under Assign to department colleagues, who it’s for.
  3. Click Create goal.
  4. Drag the card from column to column as it moves forward.

Your whole department sees team goals and can move them between columns, but only their creator (or an administrator) can edit or delete them. A card whose date has passed shows Expired; it isn’t locked or deleted.

At the top of the board there are two layers you switch on or off: Team goals (on) and General goals (off). The second adds your goals from the other tab as read-only cards; moving them only rearranges your board, without changing their real progress.

You can also adapt the columns: Add column (up to 9 of your own), Limit cards so the column is highlighted when it goes over a number, and, on Done, Delete completed. These settings are saved in your browser and your colleagues don’t see them. Delete completed stores the time period, but currently it doesn’t remove any cards by itself.

What happens next

Every day at 03:00 (3 a.m., mainland Spain time), Orquiva archives general goals that have been done for more than 7 days. The period is fixed and your company can’t change it. Archived goals leave the list and are kept under View history on the board: there you’ll see Archived goals with the dates they were completed and archived; Back to board takes you back. Completed team goals aren’t archived: they stay in their column until their creator deletes them.

Goals aren’t linked to your evaluations: there are no cycles, and completing a goal doesn’t change the score of any evaluation. If you want them discussed in your evaluation, raise it with your manager.

If something goes wrong

I don’t see Performance in the menu. Your role doesn’t include access to goals, or your company isn’t on the Professional plan. Ask HR.

I can’t find a button to create a goal in Goals. There isn’t one: those goals are created by your manager. You can create team goals in Board.

I can’t mark a task as done. Task progress is set by your direct manager or an administrator. Let them know when you’ve finished it.

A completed goal has disappeared. It was archived after 7 days as done. Look for it under View history.

I can’t edit a team goal. Only its creator can. If they’ve left the company, ask an administrator.

My columns have disappeared. You’re on another browser or device: your own columns are saved in each browser.
