In Talent management, Evaluations tab, you create your team’s evaluations and track their status. The ones you have to fill in yourself live somewhere else: My evaluations.

Before you start

Who can. You need the talent management permission, which the default Manager role does include. With it, you create evaluations only for the people who have you as their direct manager. The administrator can create them for anyone and sees every evaluation in the company.

Which plan you need. Evaluations and goals are included from the Professional plan up. They aren’t available on Starter.

Templates aren’t edited here. The Templates tab is for administrators: it is where the base templates you pick when creating are prepared. How they are built is covered in onboarding and review templates.

Creating an evaluation

  1. Open Talent management and go to the Evaluations tab.
  2. Select New review.
  3. Under People, pick one or more people from your team.
  4. Choose the Base template. Its questions are copied and you can adjust them: add one with Add question, pick the type (Text, Likert 1–5 or Yes/No), give it a Weight or mark it Required.
  5. Under Who answers? choose I evaluate the people I select or The people I select evaluate me.
  6. Enter the Title and the Due date. If you want someone else to read the answers, name them under Reviewer (optional).
  7. Select Create review. If you picked several people, you’ll see Evaluation assigned to with the count.

Evaluations are vertical: between you and your team, never between peers. Whoever has to answer gets an inbox notification.

Completing an evaluation

The ones you have to answer are in My evaluations, and the ones where you’ve been named reviewer are in To review. The details are in your reviews.

  1. Open the evaluation from My evaluations.
  2. Answer each question.
  3. Keep an eye on the Required questions completed counter: every question marked Required must be answered before you can submit.
  4. Select Submit evaluation.

A submitted evaluation can't be reopened

After Submit evaluation you can’t change the answers or submit it again, and there is no way to reopen it. If something needs fixing, the only option is to create another evaluation.

Who sees what

An evaluation is open to whoever answers it, the person being evaluated, whoever created it and the reviewer, if one was named. Nobody else, and HR doesn’t get access just for being HR; the administrator sees the list of all of them. The answers are visible only to whoever answers until they submit; everyone else sees them once it is Submitted.

What happens next

In the Evaluations tab you see one row for each evaluation you created with someone on your team, with its status: Draft, Pending, Submitted or Closed. At the top, the totals and the average score out of 5. The Upcoming evaluations block sorts pending ones by Due date. How to read the results is in review results.

If something goes wrong

I don’t see Talent management. Either you don’t hold the talent management permission or your company is on Starter. Ask whoever runs Orquiva.

I can’t pick a person. You can only evaluate people who have you as their direct manager. If they should be on your team, ask HR to check their record.

I made a mistake and had already submitted it. It can’t be reopened. Create a new evaluation.

It won’t let me submit. Some required questions are unanswered. Check the Required questions completed counter.

I can’t find the template I need. Templates are prepared by an administrator. Ask them to activate the one you’re missing.
